Below are some basic questions regarding VAT (Value Added Tax). This tax will soon be applied to all purchases made if you are in the EU (European Union).

1. Will I be informed before RunMags starts charging VAT?

Yes, we will send out an email before we start applying VAT.

2. Why am I being asked for my VAT number?

We are asking you to provide your VAT so that VAT won't be applied to your purchase if we have it in our records.

3. How should I enter my VAT number?

We require the full VAT, which is the number preceded by a country code (or, in the case of Sweden, SE). As an example:

Invalid: 55432738291

Valid: SE55432738291

4. What if I don't have a VAT number?

We are not charging VAT at this time, but VAT will be applied to your future purchases, as per EU tax laws.

5. How much will I be charged?

VAT will be charged at the standard rate for your country if you do not provide a VAT number in the RunMags Account Manager.

VAT will not be charged for past purchases.

6. What should I do if I am tax-exempt?

If you are exempt from paying VAT, please send the documents that demonstrate your tax-exempt status to support@runmags.com with "RE: VAT documents" in the subject line.

Please note that most organizations are not VAT exempt under European VAT law for subscription based software platforms. In very limited circumstances where you do not have a VAT number, we are only legally allowed to not charge VAT where you have been specifically exempted under European Union VAT law. If you are a specific exempt organization, for example NATO, European Central Bank, European Commission, and would like to receive a VAT exemption, we kindly ask you to send copies of all documents, together with their English translations, substantiating the VAT-exempt status of your organization to support@runmags.com.

Acceptable documents/evidences are a certificate or similar official document issued by tax authority or similar authority (e.g. ministry of finance) of the organization's country of residence verifying that your organization is exempt from VAT in its country of residence, together with their English translations.

7. Who has to supply a VAT number?

If you are a business in the European Union and purchase from RunMags, you will be required to supply a VAT number.

8. I am entering the correct VAT number, but it comes back as invalid. Where can I verify this?

You are welcome to verify your VAT number here: http://www.vatcheck.eu/
