RunMags uses and formats dates and time according to the ISO 8601 standard. This is an international standard that resolves the inconsistency between various country specific versions. March 10, 2018 is written in the following way: 2018-03-10.

There are several benefits to this system. First, it’s completely unambiguous as there will never be any confusion on whether the 2018-03-10 date means March 10th or October 3rd. Secondly, it’s alphabetizable so that if you are working in Excel, using CSV files, etc. the dates will sort in a chronological order. Once you get used to ISO 8601, the formatting totally makes sense.
